A sinking darkness still grips the heart of Christchurch city – its CBD
powerless and in accessible since the powerful earthquakes that
struck in September 2010 and February 2011. The wire fences that
still frame the city are a constant reminder to Cantabrians that their
hometown is still in a broken state of limbo. Amidst the destruction,
the resounding voices of New Zealand have cried
Kia Kaha: Be Strong.
Ten months and more than 7000 aftershocks later, four residents
share their stories of life in the aftermath of the quakes.
Filmed on location in Christchurch, July 2011.
